Meet Nikhil (left) and his brother Vansh (right).
They are from India but live in a shelter alongside with other Indian families in Kathmandu, Nepal. Their family (3 brothers, 1 sister, mother, father, aunt) shares a small room (ca. 2x5m) where they sleep, eat, cook and live. Toilets have to be shared with 30 other families. The above picture was taken in front of their home.
Vansh (18) went to school in India, but had to leave school eventually to help his family earn money. He now makes paintings and sells them on the street. His mother tries to earn money by painting Henna tattoos on the street and his father works as a shoe cleaner. However, some drunk people recently stole and broke his shoe cleaning kit and he cannot afford to buy a new one yet.
There is just enough money to survive. But none of the children go to school. Thus, it is Vansh’s biggest dream to earn enough money so that his little brother Nikhil can go to school. School fees in Nepal add up to 49,500 Nepali rupees.
I met Vansh and his lovely family and even though they have very little, they were absolutely welcoming and generous. It is now my mission to support Vansh to fulfill his dream and if you too want to help, any amount will be highly appreciated. Thank you so much!
