One Love Rebuild Fund
A Community Shattered by Hurricane Melissa
On October 28, 2025, Hurricane Melissa, a Category 5 storm with winds reaching 295 km/h (183 mph), struck Jamaica with unimaginable force.
In our peaceful community of Senior in Cambridge, St. James, everything changed within hours.
Homes were torn apart.
Schools were destroyed.
Roads were blocked.
Families stood in the rubble — with nothing but the clothes they were wearing.
We Lost Everything — But Not Our Hope
Our community — the elderly, the disabled, the young, families, and friends — lost everything.
Yet even after this devastation, we will bounce back and rise again.
Because we know that our courage, love, and unity are stronger than the storm.
Why I Created This Fund
That spirit inspired the creation of the
“Rising after Melissa – Rebuilding Senior, Cambridge, St. James – One Love Rebuild Fund.”
Together, we aim to restore lives, rebuild homes, and renew hope for everyone affected in Senior and the wider Cambridge area.
