My mother and father were born into poverty, a cycle they’ve struggled against since childhood. Despite having little, they built a life together on the foundation of hard work and hope. They believed that with enough effort, they could give their children a better life, even if it meant sacrificing their own comfort and dreams.
Growing up, our home was modest, filled with the essentials and not much more. My parents worked tirelessly—my father took on multiple jobs, often working late into the night, while my mother balanced part-time work with raising us, always finding a way to stretch every penny. Their hands were always busy, mending clothes, fixing broken things, and making do with what little we had.
But no matter how hard they worked, poverty was a shadow that loomed over us. There were times when the cupboards were nearly bare, and the weight of unpaid bills hung heavy in the air. Yet, my parents never let their struggles show. They shielded us from the harshest realities of our situation, turning every hardship into a lesson of resilience and gratitude.
As they grew older, the years of hard labour began to take their toll. My father’s health started to decline, and my mother’s energy waned. Despite their advancing age, they continued to work, refusing to burden us with their troubles. But I could see the strain in their eyes, the exhaustion in their movements. They’ve always been too proud to ask for help, but the truth is, they need it now more than ever.
My parents have given everything to provide for us, sacrificing their own needs to ensure we never went without. Now, it’s our turn to give back. They deserve a life of dignity and peace, free from the constant worry of making ends meet. I’m asking for your help to support them in their time of need. Your contribution, no matter how small, will help provide them with the security they’ve spent a lifetime working towards but have never truly known.
Together, we can lift them out of poverty and give them the comfort they’ve always deserved. Thank you for helping to make their future brighter.
